How Freight Works on Quotes

ICD operates a quote-first B2B model. After you submit a quote request, our team coordinates LTL freight based on product weight, hazmat classification, pallet configuration, destination, and any delivery accessorials you select (lift gate, residential delivery, appointment delivery, and others).

The quote builder shows estimated weight and pallet guidance to help you plan efficient loads. These figures are planning aids — not guaranteed freight charges.

When your quote reaches quote ready status, freight is included in the total you review and approve before payment. That amount reflects verified carrier quotes obtained at the time of preparation — not an algorithmic estimate.

Freight Billing Options

• ICD freight account (prepay and add) — ICD quotes LTL freight from carriers and adds the cost to your invoice. This is the default for most customers.
• Your freight account — Provide your carrier account number (truck line or FedEx/UPS ground) during quote submission. You bill and pay the carrier directly; ICD coordinates product release to your account.

FOB and Title

For ICD-coordinated freight, shipment terms are FOB ITD— our manufacturer partner's shipping point. Title and risk of loss transfer in accordance with standard FOB shipping terms when goods are delivered to the carrier. If the carrier's final bill exceeds the freight amount on your approved quote, you remain responsible for the difference.

Lead Times

Production and shipment timing depends on product availability, order queue, and carrier pickup schedules. Typical lead times from paid order to shipment are often in the range of several business days to two weeks, but ICD does not guarantee specific ship dates unless explicitly stated on your quote document.

Large or multi-pallet orders, hazmat products with carrier restrictions, and deliveries requiring special accessorials may extend lead time. Your portal order status will reflect processing and shipped updates, including tracking when available from the carrier.

Hazardous Materials

Many industrial cleaning chemicals ship as regulated hazardous materials. Carriers may restrict certain hazmat classes to specific lanes, impose quantity limits, or require additional documentation. Accurate product selection, delivery address, and accessorial information in your quote helps avoid delays or re-rating.

You are responsible for ensuring your receiving location can accept LTL hazmat deliveries (loading dock, lift gate needs, business hours, etc.). Misrepresenting a commercial site as non-residential — or failing to disclose access limitations — may result in redelivery fees charged to you.

At Delivery — Inspect Before You Sign

Inspect and count all freight before signing the carrier delivery ticket. Note any visible damage, leaks, or shortages directly on the delivery receipt. This documentation is required for damaged-in-transit and short-ship claims.

Freight Policy Summary

When ICD coordinates freight on your behalf, the following apply:

• Freight rates vary day-to-day; we quote each shipment to at least three carriers.
• Our freight quote is an estimate — final shipping charges are your responsibility.
• Special requests at delivery not listed on the bill of lading are billed to you.
• Inspect and count freight before signing the delivery ticket; note damage or shortages on the ticket.
• Missed delivery appointments may incur a re-delivery fee charged to you.
• Operating a business from a residential address still counts as residential for carrier purposes.
